From the club corral at turn 5 - Porsche jacket in background
Also from the Club corral at Turn 5 - Jim B. from Easy Porsche and teammates Mitch and Marc Parella brought their "908" LeMons car!
It caused plenty of commotion at the Turn 5 bridge!
Look closely at the end of the lineup of new 911's - yep that's a LeMons car.
So later in the day, Mitch decided to try and sneak into the paddock with the LeMons car. As he approached the paddock entrance the woman at the gate stopped him. "Hey, were you looking for the police escort to the Quail?" she asked. Mitch played it cool. "No, we're just going to leave this thing here tonight." he quickly replied. He idled forward and she yelled "Wait." Startled, and sure he was busted and was going to be turned around he hesitated. "OK, go ahead - he (a reference to a bystander with a camera) just wanted to take a picture." With a grin, Mitch rolled in straight to the Canepa pit and found the real 908.
It gets better - see below.
Yep, thats Jim B. of Easy with Derek Bell. The rumor is that Jim convined Derek to come drive for them at Infineon. You'll note that Jim is wearing his R Gruppe shirt! (Marc Parella Photo)
