Peeling the paint off by block sanding, it showed just how rumply the outer skin was. To address the dings around the grill heart, I made a jig that fit behind the lower grill opening to hammer the rounded shape back. I also talked with Conrad about the oil can effect where the metal was weak and stretched in front of the rear wheels, and on the front left fender. He suggested heat treating it to shrink the metal which involves heating with a torch, then shocking the area with cool water. Finally, the area behind the front left front wheel had been hit and was all bondo, about 1/4" thick, so I cut the area out and made a replacement from sheet steel.
