The hardtuned 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT
The beginnings of the interior. Started with Dynamat on the reskinned passenger door, and painted the areas I'd been heat-treating to alleviate the oilcanned metal behind the doors in front of the rear fenders. That area received Dynamat also, followed by the roof. I obtained a nice set of original panels in grey from Larry E's collection, which were from a slightly newer car. The main differences include provisions for shoulder belts not present in the '65, and my door pulls are less elegant, and mounted slightly lower than the 67. Also mocking up the '67 seats. Slightly modified 65 sliders work on the passenger side in the same floor mounting holes. The driver's seat rail mounting holes are slightly narrower, and the 67 rails work on a combination of the props for the '65 rails in the front, and engine mounts from the Cortina engine swap in the rear. Obviously the seats need serious attention in the foam and vinyl departments. Most recently, Dynamat was applied to the floors, and I welded up some messy seat mount areas on the driver's side, and it will be possible to run either 1965 seats or the 1967 versions. Unboxed the new/old carpet kit that came with the car,and mocked it up. It came with a stylish hat too!
